In this article a 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a Colorado Springs security guard. The police said this week that the boy was arrested Friday and taken to the Spring Creek Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs. The boy’s name has not been revealed. He is suspected of stabbing 47-year-old Gerry Gozar several times in a downtown parking garage. It is interesting to see how young people are getting in the crime rates. I thought that I would never do anything like that, and it is very affective to me because it is such a serious deal. This could show the world how people get disciplined for all of there harsh actions.

In the article Man accused of killing dog with arrows, it was so sad to read about the animal abuse that is going on in the world today. The name of the abuser is Zackary Scott Ruszka. He was charged with the underage use of alcohol. He lived with his girlfriend and her family, who had left him in charge of their home and dog when they went to California for a family emergency, and that’s when he shot the dog. This is a perfect example of how people are hard to trust when it comes to watching after your house along with your pets. How this personally affects me is that I need to chose the people that I trust in the future as well as now.

In this article, a 19-year-old worker on an overnight shift was seriously injured after his snowmobile crashed into a tree. life really was short for this 19-year-old (name not released), and it seems like there is more and more that goes wrong for many young people everyday. If only there was a way to stop all of these tragic events. This affects me personally because I think that what if that was my brother or my sister or even my parents, and how I would never be the same after that. I hope that this is affective to the world and that the world realizes that life is short, and we all need to look after each other in order to be safe.

In the article Hit-and-run injures a women, I thought that it was sad to hear about some innocent person getting hit by a driver who wasn’t paying any attention to “the rules of the road”. The victims name was not revealed by the authorities, but they did mention that she was a 24-year-old. It happened on Havana Street on a Friday evening. The 24-year-old victim was found lying in the middle of the street unconscious. This is a sad example of how many people are so dishonest that they would leave someone in the middle of the street that is in a critical condition. Personally I believe that if I were to be hit by a car and then that car drove off, that I would be incredibly angry with them and would want to make sure that they were brought to justice. I can believe that people think that they can get away with something as serious as this. This is a good example to the world of how many people are dishonest about very critical things such as a hit-and-run.

In the article the father of a former Golden High School football player (43-year-old William Hilborne)was sentenced to 9 months in jail for stealing money from the booster club for his son's football team, Not to mention that he had been on a two year probation for drug use. After pleading guilty to cashing checks that his 39-year-old wife, Kelli Hilborne wrote while serving as treasurer of the Quarterback Club, and she previously was sentenced to 20 days in jail and three years probation. "This is a pattern for him," said prosecutor in asking for incarceration. "He takes money that isn't his." The couple also used the club's credit card to charge meals and entertainment for themselves! About $8,000 was embezzled from the club in which most of that money was raised by the student athletes, they paid back much of the money but they still owe about $1,200 dollars. The last quote in the article is, "This was a huge blow to them," said public defender John Morrison. "It was shameful and embarrassing and destroyed a lot of their relationships here. They moved away to spare their son from suffering the consequences of their embarrassment." I think that these are very strong words said in a statement. What matters in this article is that stealing is wrong, and no matter what you will always get caught sooner or later. How this affects the world is it shows how far some people are willing to go for any extra money that they can get their hands on. This can be a warning to those in the world that are dishonest and are willing to make poor decisions with there lives. How easily people fall from bad situations to worse, and how it is difficult to learn to trust people in this world is how this article affects me. This article reminds me of a quote by Warren G. Harding, "I have no trouble with my enemies. But my friends, they're the ones who keep me walking the floor nights." This article reminded me of this quote because, many of the people of the community trusted the Hilbornes to be honest because they were there friends. It is like what Harding said, you know who your enemies are, but when it comes to your friends it is easy to trust them until it is to late.

In the article that the officals don't believe the accident that killed an 18-year-old Legacy High School student involved drugs or alcohol. The 18-year-old named Chris Reagan crashed his car in the northbound lanes Interstate 25. He got out of his car and was hit by a semi in the southbound lanes when he tried to cross the highway. As the semi-driver swerved, the rear wheels of the truck's trailer hit Reagan, killing him. The driver immediately stopped and called authorities. since all of the officials do not suspect the semi driver was using drugs or alcohol he is not going to be charged. The 18-year-old was a senior and soccer star at Legacy High School, with having hopes of playing with Metro in the fall. A statement said by his parents was "Our lives will never be as rich without him and his creative spirit and love for life will forever be missed." I thought that the quote that was said by Chris's parents was a very short way of saying how much they were going to miss him. A connection that I had with the quote said by Chris's parents was the story of Chris McCandles and what I think Chris M's parents would have said. What is important in this article is to inform the world of how important safe driving is along with how easily accidents can happen. How this affects me is, it makes me want to be super careful as a future driver, so that nothing this serious will happen to me ever in my life.

In the article about three men getting arrested after a shooting in a bar that lead to two dead, I thought that it was crazy to see how quickly life can be taken away after a little argument. The three men that were arrested were, Samson Lee Lopez and Lukus Sandoval and Ronald Eugene Martinez. Samson Lee Lopez and Lukus Sandoval were arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and Ronald Eugene Martinez was arrested on a charge of being an accessory to crime. Police say 31-year-old Clifford Maes and 21-year-old Benjamin Griego were shot to death at the Hollywood Bar in Trinidad, Colorado about 180 miles south of Denver, Colorado. Lopez is said to be thirty-years-old, and Sandoval is said to be twenty-seven-years-old. Lopez is said to also face an additional charge of aggravated robbery. I thought that it is so sad to think how short life can be if it is taken away. what matters in this article is two men were shot, so two lives were taken away, and the people responsible are now being punished for there harsh actions. This article is really important to the world because, it can inform the world about how dangerous it is to get into a disagreement with a complete stranger, cause you don't know if the stranger has an anger issue or something, it could cost you your life. This affects me personally, because I was born in Trinidad, Colorado. So if I hadn't moved up to Denver, I might have had friends that knew the people that were killed or something. It is a very serious and sad issue for me to think about because to me it is terrible to hear about lives being taken away from young people.

In this article an ill student went home and soon after there was a discovery of a white powder in his locker! I think that the discovery of the powder will later benefit the future security of all the littleton public schools. Since the discovery is such a big deal, this might scare some of the other students that might be doing drugs as well. Quickly after Littleton Fire officials to order the evacuation of Heritage High School in the littleton public schools district.A Littleton Fire Department chief Jay Ruoff, had said that the officials have no idea what the substance is despite an initial field test that was "inconclusive". Ruoff said that the powder was found in a gym bag and is being sent to a laboratory for even further testing. Six including two school employees and four students were sent to a local hospital as a result, the school was also closed 40 minuets early, all of the after school events were canceled on Monday. What matters in this article is the awareness needed in order to solve the problems that America is having with kids and drugs. This greatly affects the world around us because, since people are getting more aware of the problems with high school kids and the ones who are using drugs in the schools. There was a car left running all night inside of a garage. one of the police officers said the the poisoning does not look like it was intentional at all. He said that the car may have been left running by a person in the family who had every intention of returning to the garage but became distracted and forgot. five of the victims were family members and they fell unconscious in their sleep. the sixth Vitim was their neighbor who went and checked on them, the next day. The indecent happened in Aurora Colorado. This affects the world because it is a perfect example of how people need to be careful and make sure that everyone is careful in everything that they do. This is affective on me because it is a way of scaring me to be more cautious in everything that I do. In this article it was so freaky to see how something can go wrong so quickly, because someone forgot to do something that didn't seem important at the time, but was super important (like leaving the car on over night). I'm sure that this is a way for people to be aware of the danger of forgetting something that doesn't seem like a big deal. The trucker first pulled the little 4-year-old named Peyton out of the wreck only to have her ask were her mother is. her mother had been killed instantly when her SUV had drifted in the way of sanchuez grain truck about 2:30 p.m. on Colorado Highway 392. Then the thirty two year old truck driver jumped from his grain truck to save Peyton along with her one-year-old sister named Morgan from the car wreckage. He pulled out Morgan first, and went back for Peyton, they were both seriously injured, and now the two of them are now recovering at the children's hospital in Aurora. The trucker said "I just feel happy they're alive," he said, hugging his wife, Susie,as he tried to hold back tears. "Because they're going to get to have a happy life. It'll be difficult without their mother. I tried to save her, but I couldn't." This artical is a perfect example of how we can all try and help people who are on danger, because we all need to think of others as well as think of our selves. The affect that this had on me, was it made me super sad to see that these two little girls lost someone who was very important to them in there lives. I was so glad that the trucker didn't only think about himself and how his own life was in danger, but he stopped to think of someone else and their safety. what matters in this article is that someone was a hero, because they saved someone and this only happened because they weren't being selfish.

In the Denver post article and the video called Denver boy, 11, recognized for heroics, It was cool to see that A life was saved by a young boy. The short video showed a few short interview Questions that were answered by the young boy's classmates along with his father. The boys name is Roman Ross; he is an eleven- year- old who happened to act during a point of danger. What happened was a small boy wanted to swim, and fell into the deep end of the pool, when Roman didn't see him; he quickly jumped in to save a life. This is super effective to the world, because it might inspire others to do the same and act when there is an emergency. Roman said that he had always wondered what it would feel like to save someone that was in danger. This will affect the world because we need all of the heroic acts in the world. This is a great example of how we all need to look out for each other as Americans. the story was very cool to come across, all of the other articles were bad news, but this was the first good news that I cam across. This was a very affective article for ma to read, because it was so awesome to see that there are some good things going on in Denver.

In the video Life = Risk, it starts off showing a many famous people that didn't succeed at what they are now known for at first, because of the people that told them that they could not accomplish what they wanted to. It was cool to see that the people who are the best at what they do failed or had people tell them that they would never become what they are today. This is affective to every one because this is a great example; it shows that every one can truly be what they want to if they don't listen to other people that tell them otherwise. This is a affective example for me, because when I was two- years- old I was adopted, and the people said that I would never do anything that had to do with performing or doing anything in front of an audience. Well they were wrong; I have been acting on stage since I was five -years -old. Another example of this is when my grandma go into a car crash, they doctors told her that she would never walk again, well they were wrong. we sometimes walked to get to the mall, and we walked pretty much everywhere. This Video is showing that just because there will be people in life that will tell you that you can't succeed, only you can make that decision.

In the article Your Probably not going to believe this I thought that it was funny to see little bobblehead dolls of Obama, Clinton, and McCain. I almost seamed that people are getting way to wrapped up in the political debate, because people made time to create something so ridicules as little political dolls. This article was made by David Warlick, who is a high school teacher. It seams that the only thing that matters to the candidates who are running for office is all of the publicity that is going around. I thought that it was a funny thing to see, because I have never seen anything like this before. The affect that this will have on the people as well as the world is, that everyone and the world will think that the only thing that matters in politics is the publicity. because that is all that they see all of the time, on the political ads, and every where. The affect that this article has on me is not really anything at all, because I mainly thought that the article was ridiculous. In the Rockey Mountain News article, there are two men who are in a professional hockey league that are great players. They are playing in Los Angeles, and are referred to as the avalanche. they have been doing a great job this year. They have already made eleven goals, already had six power plays, and they have already had thirteen assists. This can affect the world of hockey fans as well as affecting the young hockey players along with the professionals because all of the fans that are watching these hockey players are so good at what they do. what matters in this article is all of the publicity that the hockey players are getting, because the article is showing how people can do what ever the want to do, because other people have already accomplished something great. This affects me in the way that I can get confidence in what I do because I know that it is possible to do my best and truly be the best if I set my mind to it. Since the hockey players have been doing such an amazing job, there are three men named: Ryan Smyth, Paul Stastny, and Milan Hejduk, who are making art work out of the two hockey players success so far in the league.

In the short video called Did you know? I thought that it was very interesting to see all of the facts that I really didn't know about. I didn't Know all of the technical Ideas and how the there are so many different events going on around the world. It was crazy to see how technology is going to change, and get even more evolved in the future. This is going to affect the world around by, giving us a lot of interesting facts about the world around us. This video is a very good source of how all of the interesting facts that are told about the world and how it is important to know about these facts for the better. The way that this information will affect me for the better is, I will learn more about what is important to know for the future. What matters in this short video is all of the information that is being given to everyone who is watching the video and receiving all of the interesting information. The question that was asked at the end of the video was what does this all mean? This is really the ultimate question for everyone, not only the people of America, but everyone all across the world. The only answer that I have for this question is that change is going to happen no matter what. The video was most defiantly an interesting and unique presentation.

In the video Machines are using us I thought that it was interesting to see what someone thinks about the web and computers in general. It was a very creative video and it was super fast which made it difficult to fallow. I thought that the tittle of the video was very interesting, because it was a perfect example of how people use the computers (machines) for almost everything. I think that the tittle means that since people use the computers for almost everything, that the computers take so much of our time that it almost seams that the computers are actually using us. What matters in this video is making everyone aware of how much technology if affecting everyone in the world. How this affects the world, and everyone in it is it makes us so much more aware how the world depends on the technology that we have all created. The way that this affects me is, I'm starting to see how we all use and are so dependent to live with the technology, and how the technology is taking up so much of our time, and lives. The video was a very good example of how the world is becoming more and more connected by the web. the use of computers, technology, machines etc. affects us because the web is such a powerful thing, it gives us so many advantages and we are so blessed to have the education of the world literally at our fingertips.
