Teens save boys who went after backpacks on icy lake PLN #20

In the article Teens save boys who went after backpacks on icy lake, I thought that it was so cool to see how two people can make a big difference in the lives of others. What had happened in this article was, two boys were trying to retrieve backpacks that had been thrown onto a frozen lake. As this was happening, they both fell through the ice. The two teenagers happened to be walking in the park, when they saw that the two boys had broken through the inch-thick ice on the north side of the island in the middle of the lake. When this was happening, they apparently stripped off their clothing on the island before plunging into the freezing water to rescue the two boys from the broken ice the two boys were soon rescued by two other teenage boys. (It was very risky for the two teenagers to jump into the water because it can take as little as five minutes of exposure to freezing water for hypothermia symptoms to develop). The two boys that fell in the water names were not listed, but I do know that they were 10 and 11 years old. The two teenage boys that saved the 10 and 11 year olds lives were listed as a 17 year old and a 19 year old. This is important to the rest of the world because it shows how easily bad things can happen, and how regular people become the heroes. How this relates to what we are studding in class is how we can all change the world, and this article is a small example of how there are people all over that are making a difference in the lives of other people.
