lost generation PLN # 19

In the video lost generation, I thought that the way the movie was made was so amazing! It was so cool to see how the information was read both ways (up, and then down), and it kind of showed how not all changes that happen in the world are not always a good thing. How the movie affected me was when it said that the person was going to have a kid before she was going to get married, because when my birth mom was 15-years-old when she had me, so I know how it could affect another life. How this short movie clip relates to this class, is that we are trying to change the world, so something like teen pregnancy doesn't happen and affect so many different lives. I thought that the video sort of showed how the world would be for many of the lives, if people did not take a stand and try to change the world, and how the world would be change if people did change the world.

I Remember When PLN # 18

In the short film I Remember When, What matters is the future technology and how it will change over time and also how the world is going to be changed as well. I thought that it was so cool to see all of the little kids in the short clip that were saying how they remembered a point in time when technology was different to them (but it was the technology that we know as normal today). In the video it showed a clip that said the technology that we have is history to them (because the video was made to look like it is in the future). How this short clip relates to what we are doing in class is, it is talking about how the world is going to be changed, while in class we are working on changing the world our selves. How it relates to the world around us is that the world will change, so it is even talking about the world and how it is going to be changed. The video got me started thinking how the future might be to us when we get older, and know that one day the technology that we have today will some day be the future. This clip was very interesting and unusual and it was nothing like I have seen before.

Three Item Introduction PLN # 17

If I were to choose three items in my room that would be the best symboliz what is important and what matter to me are, my ipod, my drawing notebook and all of the theater posters that are up all over my room.
The reason that I would choose my ipod as one of the items in my room that best represent what matters to me is because I love music. Music has been such a important part of my life because it is a way to escape from the crazy schedule of day to day life. The types of music that I listen to are alternative along with sound tracks from Broadway musicals. The reason that I like to listen to alternative music is because it is the type of music that my 20-year-old brother listens to, and he eventually made me like that type of music as well. I enjoy listening to sound tracks from Broadway musicals because my 19-year-old sister listens to that type of music a lot, so I liked the music from musicals. I listen to music nonstop, so my ipod is a huge importance to my life.
My drawing notebook is the next Item in my room that has significance to me because I love to draw. I usually find myself drawing when I'm board. I have been drawing like this since I was little and I love to draw. I like to draw designs more than I draw landscapes and people. Drawing has been a very relaxing activity for me to do on the weekends, as well as during the week, but I usually draw better during the weekend. my drawing notebook is one of the best symbols that shows what matters to me the most.
Lastly, are all of the theater posters that are hanging up all over my room that represent that I have been doing theater since I was 5-years-old. I have been acting ever since, I have mostly been in musicals. Since I love to act and sing, musical theater is one of the most important things that I have been doing. Both my brother and sister did acting here at Arapahoe in the theater program, and my sister was super serious about singing. So they had a big influence on my acting life. The theater posters that are in my room are a good way to see how important acting is to me.
The three items in my room that best represent what matters to me are my ipod, my drawing notebook and all of the different theater posters that I have.

Boy, 14, arrested in stabbing of Springs security guard PLN # 16

In the article Boy, 14, arrested in stabbing of Springs security guard, I thought that it was very unusual to see that a 14-year-old would do something so serious. In this article a 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a Colorado Springs security guard. The police said this week that the boy was arrested Friday and taken to the Spring Creek Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs. The boy’s name has not been revealed. He is suspected of stabbing 47-year-old Gerry Gozar several times in a downtown parking garage. It is interesting to see how young people are getting in the crime rates. I thought that I would never do anything like that, and it is very affective to me because it is such a serious deal. This could show the world how people get disciplined for all of there harsh actions.

Man accused of killing dog with arrows PLN # 15

In the article Man accused of killing dog with arrows, it was so sad to read about the animal abuse that is going on in the world today. The name of the abuser is Zackary Scott Ruszka. He was charged with the underage use of alcohol. He lived with his girlfriend and her family, who had left him in charge of their home and dog when they went to California for a family emergency, and that’s when he shot the dog. This is a perfect example of how people are hard to trust when it comes to watching after your house along with your pets. How this personally affects me is that I need to chose the people that I trust in the future as well as now.

Night worker injured in snowmobile crash PLN # 14

In the article Night worker injured in snowmobile crash, it is so crazy to see how easily things can go wrong. In this article, a 19-year-old worker on an overnight shift was seriously injured after his snowmobile crashed into a tree. life really was short for this 19-year-old (name not released), and it seems like there is more and more that goes wrong for many young people everyday. If only there was a way to stop all of these tragic events. This affects me personally because I think that what if that was my brother or my sister or even my parents, and how I would never be the same after that. I hope that this is affective to the world and that the world realizes that life is short, and we all need to look after each other in order to be safe.

Hit-and-run driver injures woman PLN#13

In the article Hit-and-run injures a women, I thought that it was sad to hear about some innocent person getting hit by a driver who wasn’t paying any attention to “the rules of the road”. The victims name was not revealed by the authorities, but they did mention that she was a 24-year-old. It happened on Havana Street on a Friday evening. The 24-year-old victim was found lying in the middle of the street unconscious. This is a sad example of how many people are so dishonest that they would leave someone in the middle of the street that is in a critical condition. Personally I believe that if I were to be hit by a car and then that car drove off, that I would be incredibly angry with them and would want to make sure that they were brought to justice. I can believe that people think that they can get away with something as serious as this. This is a good example to the world of how many people are dishonest about very critical things such as a hit-and-run.
